This is Christian fiction that does not shy away from the struggle—but instead leans into it, revealing the depth of God’s grace in the midst of it all.
Get to Know the Author:
Carolyn A. Smith is a 2026 Christlit Book Award–winning Christian fiction author, educator, and storyteller whose work is shaped by more than twenty years of experience in secondary and postsecondary English instruction and community engagement. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing with High Honors from Long Island University and has pursued doctoral studies in English, grounding her fiction in both literary craft and theological depth.
Her creative foundation began at Mountain View Bible Camp (MVBC), where she spent nearly two decades as a camper, junior and senior co-counselor, and later as drama director—writing, directing, and mentoring young performers. It was there she discovered the transformative power of story to shape identity, strengthen faith, and build community.
Through The Siren’s Call trilogy, Carolyn explores themes of faith, temptation, identity, and redemption with psychological nuance and spiritual honesty. Rooted in Scripture and shaped by lived experience, her work invites readers to wrestle deeply, grow intentionally, and trust that grace remains present—even in life’s most complex moments.
